I am giving away this dresden plate pillow cover (pillow not included). It is 18" square and is made from Denyse Schmidt fabrics (mainly Flea Market Fancy) on a white solid background .....
I love how girly it is :)
The backing and binding is from DS Quilts new line Picnic & Fairgrounds .....

ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous pillow! Those fabrics are so pretty together. One of my favourite quilt blocks/patterns is the Drunkards path because it has so many variations. I love all Heather Bailey's fabric lines and Camille's latest 'Ruby' is looking pretty too.

Oooh, soooooooo pretty! Wow! Well, my favorite quilt block right now is a simple log cabin - but modernized. Manipulated with modern fabrics or put together in a wonky kind of way. They've been a lot of fun to play with!

ReplyDeleteI made quilts for a number of years but once I made the "double wedding ring pattern" (which was the hardest one I did ; all those curved seams!) I figured I'd reached the top. Then I learned rug hooking and now I've moved on to mosaics! Love the pillow. Thanks. :)

Ohhhhhhh, what pretty colours. I don't quilt. Yet. I have been thinking of trying a mug rug, using some old clothes I have, as a first wee project. I've been knitting and doing some embroidery recently, and have just made some cute wee booties for a friends new baby.

beautiful! makes me want to learn how to quilt. right now i am trying to keep focused on illustration - i love combining/collaging my own drawings with fabric, tissue paper, and threads

Wow, I love dresden plates, i'm no where near accurate enough to do one yet, but I am practising all the time. I'm looking forward to Moda's Ruby later this year. At the moment, i love Sherbert pips and soul blossom - both ends of the spectrum really!

I'm in love with your pillow! Dresden plates are a new fave of mine and as soon as I get my hands on a wedge ruler I'm going to give them a whirl! My fave fabrics at the moment are anything by Kate Spain. Love that girl. Thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteI don't quilt, or even sew that much. I use bits of fabrics from time-to-time to make dolly dresses for my daughter's barbies or to cover buttons etc, so my fave fabrics are any with tiny prints on them!

ReplyDeleteI love this pillow! I'm not sure it's my favorite, but the block I'm working on now, (and forever it seems) is a spiderweb block! I love the ways it's turning out though it is a long term project!

ReplyDeleteFor quilt block - I have only made one quilt and it was a scrap quilt just made from strips. I know nothing about quilt blocks...but I can tell you that the most precious quilt I've ever seen was a simple quilt where the maker appliqued the words "Eat, play, sleep, repeat" onto it. it was darling! i hope this counts!

ReplyDeleteMy faves are the Alexander Henry Dia de los muertos themes! I would love to make a quilt with all of his skull and Day of the dead fabrics, but they are pretty darn hard to track down!!
